Is it definatly gearbox oil? Not questioning your judgement, just wasn't clear to me in the post. Mine has oil on from rocker cover gasket, extremely minor leak on mine and next to no oil loss, but looks a mess on the box.

Unusual for front gearbox seal to leak rear crankshaft oil seal a possibility depends if its gearbox or engine oil the smell of the oil will tell you gearbox oil stinks other possibilities is rocker cover head gasket or a multitude of other places on the engine might be worth a god degrease then start looking from scratch

If it has a single cam engine there is a seal on the housing that the cam sensor goes in that covers the end of the cam shaft

There is a post on here about there being a rubber plug in a hole by the selector shafts, right at the top of the gearbox that goes missing and gear oil pours out.

If it is gear oil, worth a look

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

lol
thanks lads,so it could be coming out of anywhere then :(

ill give it a pressure wash at the weekend then pop it over the pit see if i can trace it

for the price of some seals and if it is in a million bits i don't mind changing them
may even be worthwhile doing the clutch as there seems to be loads of posts about you guys going thru them
