Side Window Replacement was created by Venter
Hi
I had to smash my left rear quarter window the other day while at work in a forestry area (dog knocked driver's side door lock while I was out the car, little turd).
I've got a second-hand rear quarter window, but wanted to know what else I need.
Polyurethane bonding glue. Which brand?
Is there a solvent to remove remaining glue (which contains loads of shattered glass), or will a scraper do?
Any other tips from anyone who's done this before?

dont know about refitting but the way i have done it in the past to remove the old sealant is to take a brand new utillity knife (one of the ones that you can snap the end off) push it out to just wider than the glue bit and cut your way in to the glue to give you a tail to hang on to and then as you pull the tail away from the pannel use the kinfe to cut along as the glue stretches up (this will make it ALOT quicker to cut) but dont go toclose to the body as you will scratch it all over the place... as for the remaining glue dont worry about it the new stuff will cover it up....
good luck
good luck

Not done a Jimny window before but have gotten locked out of a motor and never again. Always have a backup key on me.

Sika-flex and tiger seal are the 2 common window bonders I've heard of, get it warmed up a bit before applying it though and have a cloth with thinners on it to clean off any excess that may work its way out to the paintwork side

would have been a better plan to smash a window that was not bonded in
