unplugging the airbags

cant seem to find where the info was, but someone posted about unplugging a connector near the gear stick to disable the airbags. can anyone give me any more info on locating this ?? i need to change my steering wheel . thanks rob

the box infront the gear stick unplug that and the airbags will be disengaged and the light will be of no need to pull bulb im sure it was a metal covered box with a yellow plug

sounds the same is I done I changed the steering wheel unplugged the passenger airbag and had a light on for a wile till I read on here to unplug the ecu and the light went out

just unplug the airbag fuse in the fuse box thats the easiest option

easyest isnt aways the safest just unplug the ecu or disconnect the battery
