WHAT ANTIFREEZE TO USE was created by jimothy
Hi Is the a preference in the type of antifreeze we use in the Jimny. As im about to remove the Rad and replace it . I thought it would be a good idea to change the coolant. Can anyone tell me the size of the belts used on my 2007 Jimny with air con as im going to replace these while I am in there.

As it might not be factory coolant in there, there are two options:

1. Refill with coolant of the same colour. This should be compatible; generally the OAT longlife ones are pink or orange, whereas the 2 year ones are green or blue. Some longlife ones, however, are green (Mazda use an 11 year green coolant).

2. Flush thoroughly with water and use whatever you like. Generally the 2 year ones have more active passivating chemicals so are best for preventing internal corrosion - if you change them on schedule.

Use whatever your motor factor recommends and change it after 2 years regardless. It will deserve a flush through by then.
