HID for 2012 Jimny was created by suzukijimmny2012
Hi all! i know there are some posts about this same subject but cant find time to read them all. So is someone is able to give a straight short answer on this, my jimny and i will be grateful. i want to change the original headlights for HID lights but couldnt find a straight answer to my straight question: what are the technical characteristics needed to fit HID lights to my 2012 jimny and avoid any damage to the electric system or any other system?

Also, why they specify between HID and HID conversion kit?

Do they have to be self levelling and have a washing/cleaning system to pass the MOT?

Yes they do need self levelling etc, also usually you don't get a proper beam pattern as the headlights weren't designed for hid bulbs.
The police can also do you under the construction and use regulations.

I tried a h4 hid conversion in my 2013 jimny and removed it as I got better results from using quality halogen globes. Where I live it is virtually impossible to drive at night without hitting animals so good lights are very important. I now have +100% Phillips globes and 2x225mm 70w Hid driving lights.
