King ping removal was created by ne-crock
Right had a look for a topic can't see one,
All set up ready to strip my kingpin down,
Then noticed the step for needing to split the steering arm, I don't have a bearing puller can I just swivel the hub out the way rather than splitting it?
Or if not any smart ideas for splitting it?
Cheers
Mike

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Don't hammer the threaded part down
The bolt/pin is tapered. How to get it out is lay a lever across the arm to give it a reason to drop out, then strike the end of the arm (the eye part) directly in line with the arm, hard.
This will shock the taper oval, and the ball joint will fall out.
Be careful not to catch the rubber boot with the hammer.

MachineMart do splitters cheap. I got a set to do the exact same job and they come apart really easily and quickly.
