Cool, that's good to hear.
One of our jimny's had an annoying rattle at the manifold, turned out
the cat had started falling to bits, big chunks of a honey comb type material
were rattling about when it was revved.
We chopped it in half and removed everything and welded it back up, with the
heat shield back on you'd never know.
Should be ok for the test then

If a vehicle is fitted with a cat as standard and it has been removed,it should fail an mot test even if it still passes the emissions test

You can only tell if the cat has been replaced with a straight bit of pipe . Ive seen several cats that have obviously been cut open then rewelded but as a tester cannot see inside the cat they cannot fail the car if it passes the emissions test

all I did was take off the manifold and break up the cat and tip it out
no cutting or welding and refit it back on sounds and goes better
