I started off high and worked my way down ever since
My brother has a modern twin turbo mercedes diesel and he gets 50+ lol
Anyway here are the official MPG figures for the Jimny.
Even the VVT doesn't get 40 mpg and we all know official figures are done in a laboratory so don't equate to real life.
Best I've got is 37 in a VVT keeping to around 3000 revs i.e 50/55 mph and in top gear with no hard acceleration.
So most standard Jimnys getting around 30/35 mpg are about correct. www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and...-1998/running-costs/

I'd be amazed if matey got mid 40's mpg out of a hilux!
Some people get abit deluded about their diesel vehicles..... and I've had 3 DERVs.
Relevant to the thread, I get around 27mpg.

Little Jim wrote: I get 34-36 around west wales up hill and down dale, I have Yoko A/Ts on but used to 40 ish on the shagged out over inflated road tyres she came with. On a run I do better but never top 40mpg which bugs me when one of my parishioners tells me he gets mid forties out of his old hilux diesel
