Seized radius arm bolt - how to get it out? was created by GuardianAngel
Went to fit the last ORA radius arm guard today and typical, the bolt is seized. Now it does turn just about so I suspect it has seized to the bush, but from what I can see that is not rotating, so maybe its the metal sleeve inside of it?
So, I have sprayed in some WD40 to let it soak overnight, but failing that, any ideas on how to get it out?
I have tried hammering the end of the bolt but it just wont budge. Maybe a bigger hammer... :woohoo:

An angle grinder with a thin slitting disc either side of the arm in the mount to cut the bolt. Take the arm off the car, so the other bolts will likely be the same and if you can't get the old cut bolt out of the bush on the bench you'll end up needing new bushes.
How good are your bushes? How much do you want to fit those guards right now? Will they wait till you need new bushes?
When you do decide to chop it, put loads of water proof grease on the bolts! Then remove them to re grease regularly!

uh oh . if it dont break free you will have to cut it either side of the bush and removing the full arm try batter th cut bolt out on the floor . failing this youll prob need to replace the bush / bolt

few ways the try if you can get a 3 armed puller on the arm and pushing on the bolt that mite shift it, heat usealy help with most things stuck, turning wile hitting is better than just hitting, they are other ways but I cant think right now lol, failing that cut the bolt each side of the arm in side of the mount with hacksaw or possibly a grinder pull the lot out and push the bush of with cut bolt left in
