Which OBD2 Scanner for 2005 Jimny VVT was created by Wakatipu
Hi,
I bought a 2005 Jimny VVT a couple of weeks back and just started using it today. After driving about 10 miles the engine management light came on. It ran fine for another 10 - 15 miles but the light was still on when I got home. Having read the various comments on your forum I would like to get a scanner to carry out some diagnostics (not just for this occasion but for the future) but am having difficulty finding a device that is suitable for a Jimny of this year. Can anyone help please with a model and where I can get one from in the UK.
Thank you

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationIf its a UK model then any EOBD scanner will work, you could also consider a V-checker or Scangauge. I used this one:

Thanks for the helpful reply. I'm a bit of a novice at this so any other advice would be welcome. Do I need anything else to read or interpret the codes or does that all come with the machine? I read that it connects somewhere under the steering column - is that correct and is it obvious where to connect it?
I'll order one this week and hope it fixes the pesky problem.
Thanks again

Just plug it in to the diagnostic socket and the cig. lighter socket and you're good to go.

I'm a bit late to this party but a scangauge 2 would be my choice for the gauge aswell as the code reading/deleting ability. The car temperature gauge doesnt move till the engine is stupid hot!
