its all well and good going for alot more power but all the other components on the jim jam like drive shafts prop shafts cv joints etx are designed for 1.3 power so are likely to fail from being over stressed due to more bhp and torque.
The same could be said about the 1.6 conversion in this respect.
I wouldn't be bothering to go through all the rigours of a turbo conversion as you do need to know your onions, things like reducing compression ratio. Then the ecu needs to be able to deal with it etc.
Then there's the heat issue. The cooling system is good at the moment but would it cope with the heat from the turbo set up?
The issue Martin raises about power gained not torque is very relevant.
I'd stick to your 1.6 conversions and play a waiting game for a suitable donor car.
