I have one of the red/orange plastic jobbies in the glove box.
I haven't tried it but could it be to 'spin' the wheel nuts off once slackened/cracked?
Just a thought..........

+1 it's for fitting and removing the chrome cover cap over the centre nut on the spare wheel, I haven't lost mine yet :laugh:

metal rods could be hinge pins, not sure :unsure:

Apart from being yellow mine has a thing like your red bit, it was in the box with the key for the alloys and is for getting the covers off the locks. The pins I don't have.
