Ok didn't get to the springs after the service other than a quick look, have ute off work to do it. Question how high do I need to jack the car to drop to get the springs I had it as a test on my highest axel stand position dropped it and no where near enough to get the springs out .
On another subject new front pads, bloody good clean of the rear drums , no more death wobble

I axle stand on the chassis, jack the centre and axle stand as close to the radius arm as possible, if you put the stand too central there is a chance it will tilt especially with the weight of the engine when jacking the front, made this mistake on my cousins when we fitted the spacers

Jack it as high as you can safely get it, on my axle stands i lifted it to the 3rd notch of 3! Dont forget the axle will need to be dropped low enough to lever out the spring, and refit it with the extra length. After it's on the stands place the trolley jack under the axle before undoing your shocks to lift/lower, support, help manoeuvre it.

If your struggling to get the drop buy a set of spring compressors, really easy to use and you wouldnt have to raise the chasis so far. you dont need them to do this job but sounds like they would help you out a lot. £15 on ebay.
