I feel so silly creating anything vacuum thread... But I've read them all and tried it all but still no luck. Before it is suggested, I do not want manual hubs. Thanks though :P

Here goes... I bought my jimny with the dreaded 4x4 flashing light... However I could see where the lines in the body were disconnected...

- bought the Jim... Reconnected all lines... Still flashing
- cleaned the 'air cleaner' or breather by the vacuum 'nest' ... Still flashing
- bypassed the blue valve/filter by the intake.... Now I can actually hear the vacuum leaking when 4x4 is engaged... (which lead me to conclude that it is/was blocked) Found the vacuum leak, changed the line... Still flashing...
Currently...

Hubs are pulled off, but for the life of me, I cannot find where inside the hubs vacuum is pulled or pushed from so I can attempt to clean them as I see most persons say they're usually blocked.

Also, when I manually engage the hubs, lift the wheel, they still spin freely... So I'm a bit confused here....

Below are the insides of my hubs and my manually locked ones.... Please let me know where I've went wrong, feel free to criticize as I am by no means a mechanic.

Also... At this point the valve/blue filter by the intake manifold is still bypassed.

Engaged, right?

The blockage is usually inside the swivel housing.

With the freewheel hub unit removed, you need to be able to blow through the 2 short spigot pipes on the back of the housing.

With the freewheel unit on, sucking on one of the spigots should pull the hub in (you will hear it click) on the other should pull it out. Alternatively, you can blow into the pipes (use 1 bar pressure: no more) and it will work, but the other way round. If you cant get the hubs to move by sucking/blowing then likely a bearing seal is gone.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

You won't see the vacuum 'ports' unless you take off the wheel bearing.

But you are correct, the hubs as you show in your picture are in the engaged position. With the range selector in 4wd and both front wheels raised, turning one wheel should result in the other rotating in the opposite direction.

Check for play in the wheel bearings if you haven't already. A worn bearing can break the seal.

Issue fixed.... I had clogged metal pipe, a blocked one way valve and a very weak vsv2 solenoid
