Is there enough oil into your gearbox ?
You just bought this Jimny second hand or you own it from 2003 ?
If it was all the time yours did you changed oil of the gearbox ?

Im just bought it from second hand.
I will check the gearbox oil level and update.
By the way, the test should be with the engine cold or hot?
thanks a lot!

Just make sure you put the right oil in
I dont no what oil goes in it or how you check it may be it says in the owners hand book

If you did buy it second hand then the best thing you can do is to change all oil's.... motor, gearbox, front and rear diff's and transfer case, ... don't even bother to check the level... change it, unless you know the precent owner.
Maybe you should control the quality from the oil you're taking out, is it brown (some water came in), black (too old) or transparent (oil was maybe not to bad  ).
It will cost you some money but doing that you can asure yourself that it's changed and good, give's you a peacefull mind.
If you don't do, it can cost you a lot more...
Anyway i did it when i bought mine.
I don't say this will solve your gearbox problem but it can't do any harm... unless you do use the false oil's.
Like markyp2000 wrote, look in the owners manual there normally you should find which oil to use and the quantity you need in each of them.
Good luck... oh yes... welcome to this forum.

I have read many times over that many auto problems are solved with a change of ATF.
Give it a go and see what happens. It's cheaper than any alternative to trying to fix it.
