hi peeps, been meaning to join this forum for years, then found a business card during a paper work clear out from Martin who I met at work a while back

anyway, seems our Jimny has a little problem. It's kept garaged all the time when not in use. It's a 59 plate so now ojt of 3 year warranty.

the unlocking function seems to have hone to sleep, in that it doesn't (usually) work when the car hasn't been used.

we have to press the lock button (bit already locked) to kind of wake it up, then the unlock works ok

I don't think it's the key fob battery, as a t a garden centre the other day, it unlocked from 10 feet away after it had been standing for about an hour.

any ideas please

Don't know how easy it is but cleaning the contacts possibly with an electrical contact cleaner is what I'd try as the clue is in the fact you leave it for long periods. In my experience with remote alarm/locking fobs for other cars I have owned is batteries do tend to do something like form an oxidised coating or whatever.
