if one is going the other will be next and as they work together ,it is best ,some make of cars you have to change them on some services ,at one time suzuki said every 48000 miles it was in one of the service books in one i use to own

50K is what they used to quote on the earlier engines, the later engines are cleaner burning so the sensor lasts longer.
Sensor life is rather variable, they get contaminated if the engine is worn, if non- sensor safe silicon sealant has been used on the engine; if the vehicle has been waded or done a lot of mudding then the sensor can fail as it draws its reference air through the wiring harness so it can be contaminated through that path too.

Ok, just getting around to ordering the sensor. It seems I can pay anything from £20 on EBay for a universal to well over £100 for oem part. Any advice on what or who to buy from? Thanks guys

get the propper one as it will have the corect plug on the end and the resistances will be right the cheep ones you use more fuel and under some comditions the engine light will come on

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI used this one to replace a defective #1 sensor never had any more issues hth .............
