Don't forget if there is a mechanical problem tyre balancing beads will not solve the wobble, however they will help diagnose the problem as a mechanical problem not a balancing problem as they won't go out of balance!

well i've narrowed it down to my wheels as when i put my friends special tracks on, theres no wobble at all, even my normall little shudder at 42 had dissapeared,

i'm starting to think its a buckled rim, but would that show up on a tyre balancing machine?

I'd think you'd see that the wheel was not round / was buckled in a tyre balancing machine as you'd see it going oval or side to side as it goes round. My tyre fitter noticed a wheel I asked him to fit a tyre to was buckled. Obviously I didn't use it.

You could place something close to the rim and spin it with the car on a jack and look to see if it gets closer and further away from that object as it goes round.

A decent tyre fitter should see if the wheel is buckled or flat-spotted, or if the tyre has gone out of true, but only if they're actually watching the wheel while they're balancing it. Ideally the wheel should be balanced by mounting it to the balancer using by bolting it on using the five mounting holes rather than the usual mounting via the centre bore.

in all honestly it was probably just as much, we started talking about his 90 challenge truck he was building, so more realide on the machine,

also their machine mounts by the centre bore,

would the back wheels effect the car so violantly if it was a rear wheel which was buckled?

Yes. I had a rear tyre that went out of shape. The effect was horrendous - felt like it was going to shake the car apart!
