I too have just broken my rear axle mounts. I didn't get a photo when it was on the mechanic's ramp, but it was broken both sides close to the shaft, one on the forward and one on the rear side just where the suspension arms are. Similar to the pics in this post, I would say.
Here's my question: my mechanic huffed in perplexity as to what to do about a repair / replacement. He thought it might need a complete new axle assembly and that he'd need to contact a breakers yard. I've had a look on the forum (and this post) and I can't seem to access the links contained therein for parts, so what does the wisdom of this members suggest as a way forward re: parts / repairs.
And the moral of this story: a trailer and a full load on the roof bars and in the rear seats might be more than your big Jimny can handle.
PS I just had to re-register, so I am perhaps not able to access all the features of the forum re: emails, searches, links.

Welcome back to the forum. I don't know if anyone is currently making repair plates for the axles commercially just now. I'm surprised that your garage isn't able to tack it back together and fabricate some reinforcing plates to weld it solid unless they think that the axle tube is weakened beyond service?
