If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

On my twin cam you undo the two pinch bolts and try to rotate the whole assembly, there is a small hexagonal hole in the centre for this purpose, but if you can get a tool into it without removing the pulley first you are a better mechanic than I
