New Jimny questions was created by jeff s
Hi All,

Just bought a new 2011 Jimny in Dubai. Having trouble getting good information about it.

Dealer info lists the engine as a M13A. Does this mean it's not the M13AA VVT engine that most markets have had standard since 2005? How can I tell the difference?

Do these cars come with a limited-slip rear diff as standard? Is there a diff in the transfer case that locks in 4L, or is the power split to the front at all times with only the hubs locking in and out?

I'm sure it's going to be a great little car. Thanks!

theres no lsd on jimny's & no center diff either

in 2wd the transfer box put power to rear only & in 4h & 4l it puts power to rear & front & should lock the front vacume operated fwh's as well

Gotcha on the transfer case.

4L is just for gear reduction, when in either 4 range front and rear axles are locked together. Thanks.

Can anybody help with the engine identification? How to tell if I've got VVT?
