If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Pin 6 is CAN Hi and 14 is CAN lo, AFAIK (which isn't a great deal) the CAN bus is terminated each end with 120 ohm resistors, so across the CAN bus you should read 60 ohms with everything powered down and asleep.
(Unless the OBD is a completely separate CAN bus and the dongle terminates with the other 120 ohms...)
I'd try a different OBD dongle, and if that doesn't work scope out pin 14 & 6, but I think we can assume communication is possible on the CAN bus, or the car wouldn't work.
