Just quickly are the gen3 transfer guards all the same between left and right hand drive versions? I've found an aluminium one made in France but sold through an English language page. It just doesn't make mention of being specific to lhd. I've been looking for a while and it is the first one I have seen and being aluminium it's about half the weight even though it's 8mm.

I don't think the position of the steering wheel will matter for a transfer case guard, the t/case is far enough back that the steering components are unlikely to be come into contact with it.

Aluminium should be isolated from the steel to avoid corrosion.
And I would think 3mm steel or 5mm aluminium would suffice.

But guessing there are less reinforcment bends when aluminium? And more costly?

Allegedly there may be some exhaust difference? They are asking 199 for the aluminium one. There is also a stainless steel one from a different supplier which is 2mm and 172 from memory. That mild steel one I took off is like 5mm and quite a heavy old Hector which is why I took it off, it's like 10 kg give or take, strong though.
