Hi All,
My head gasket fix is progressing well.
However about to remove sump as there appears a few leaks at a few points, also to properly seal at bottom of timing cover.
I have removed all studs except 1, near clutch cable.
Cant get a socket in there.
Any pointers please, on removal of this last stud.
TIA

Remove the clutch cable bracket first, I would think? It is a very easy job to put it back.
Also, you might be missing the cover plate on the gear box face (11320-69G00*), unless you already did remove it.
* might be a different number depending on age of gear box.

The clutch cable is easy to remove. The bolt you see there in the middle. if just loosening it is not enough then it might be nescessary to loosen the tension first with the plastic nut in the picture. Then opening the plastic lid/hatch and unhook the cable from the arm and pull it out.
When it is out you might even want to change it. The clutch wires tend to get hard and with too much resistance and in the end breaking the pedal bracket inside the car under the dash. A new clutch wire is way cheaper than getting the pedal assembly welded or swapped.
When I changed mine the pedal force got so light it was allmost annoying.

Thanks.
I managed to get at the last 3 studs.
Now, I can't even get the rear of the sump passed the bell housing, before I remove the leading arm, I think?
