We’re having issues with my Jimny. Sat for six years and not started. Battery change and she started and ran.
24 hours later came to start and wouldn’t

engine cranks but no spark. Fuel pump primes and pumps fuel, all fuses checked and ok. So this is what I have done so far;

Changed all ignition coils (new)
Changed CAM Sensor (new)
fixed broken wire under the engine fuse box for the injection (15amp)
have had the key checked and key coil is good. But engineer could not read the Immobiliser/ECU to read the key code.
3 different people with varying ages of ODB readers unable to read keys or reprogram key.
ODB comes back with no errors but BMC can’t read key code.

I suspect it’s the immobiliser. ECU IS 5H version. Immobiliser is standard I70E0

thoughts please.

First - if there is an immobilizer fault there should be some sort of dash warning light to indicate this, look at the dash lights & check your owner's manual

Second - 1999/2000 will usually not respond to an OBDII reader, but can be diagnosed using the check engine light and a jumper wire in the monitor coupler.

What lights are on when you switch the ignition on before trying to start the engine - do you have at least the oil pressure light, the charge light and the check engine lights?

All dash lights as should be when turned on. “Check engine” light flashes indicating from the manual an issue with key or immobiliser.
