1998 Jimny, rear wheel arch liners?

Hello

I am tidying up the old Jimny back end before winter sets in and the rear arches look quite vulnerable with no liners, just a little cover protecting the fuel filler on the o/s, removed in photos.
There is what looks to be a liner mount strip with fixing holes on each side but it seems the Gen 3 Jimny was not fitted with rear arch liners. Can someone confirm that my photos are normal and arch liners are generally missing and not required.
Thank you

I will happily be corrected but don't think there ever was an inner liner from factory.

At least I've never seen one.

Without looking on mine, I'm pretty sure there's a small arch liner covering the fuel filler pipes.

Better to top up the underseal with easy access, than to get liners to hold dirt and moisture?

I brushed Hydrate 80 on the areas where rust was showing, mainly the back end inboard and the outer leaf of the arch. I then applied a product called Sovereign K10; it's a resin based roof sealer with fibre glass strands. This took days to dry and I was then able to spray with Holts/Simoniz black Gloss tough paint.

It looks like you can buy some sort of aftermarket rear liners but no sign that these were ever fitted at the factory. An arch liner is only any good if it effectively seals out water and mud. The ones I found don't look like they would do that, so it seems available arch liners and probably rear flaps will cause more problems than they resolve.     .
