Has anyone successfully done a remap to the gen3? Yes I know at most it might give maybe 10 percentage points but 8 and a half horse power is 8 and a half horse power.  I know a couple of people have throttle body conversions and they have seen a decent increase like 110 on a 1.3 and 160 on a 1.8 but more for me would be on a significantly less modified engine just to give it the best chance it can to try and get out of it's own way. Also if you have done it who did you use?

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
Bellerophon (2024 grello van daily

I'd love to get my Gen4 remapped.
I know it's a marginal hp increase, but any hp will be worth it to me.

I've wondered about this, not a remap per se, but, so to speak, the old school methods or getting more power.

The exhaust manifold is a piss poor "log" style affair, a decent 4 > 2 > 1 header should improve flow, I've seen a few in Australia, but don't no where to get a remap done.

For some reason the racing guys are not so experienced in the suzuki type of ECU and it's type of coms and protcols for doing a remap.
Here in Norway everyone can do a remap for diesels and some for a petrol BMW but very few for japanese cars and no-one for Suzuki the last time i tried to find help.
A quick google now revealed some .co .uk results though.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Gains from a re-map on the standard engine are more likely to be 3-5% than 10%. It's really not going to be worthwhile considering you're looking at £300+ for time on the dyno.

Best bang for buck I've found on a Gen3 is drilling a big hole in the bottom half of the airbox. This took nearly a second off my 0-60 on my 1.6 Jimny, so I'm guessing close to a 10hp gain (very unscientific I know). It does let some noise out too, up to you if you think that's a good or a bad thing. Replacement air boxes are around £20 so there's little to lose from trying it.

I find this quite interesting, firstly, it suggests that the factory intake is quite restrictive, and secondly, it flies in the face of conventional wisdom as such an opening would be a source of "hotter" air drawn from under the bonnet, rather than the cooler air from the fender well area
