Depends. I'm prepared to wave at all Jimnys but I will take a judgement over whether they seem interested or not. Most around here in Berkshire seem uninterested and won't wave back so I tend not to bother. There's one I see alot and we both wave although I do know this car and we've both downgraded to just a small wave from the steering wheel.

I used to wave a lot, but now I have a Gen 4 hardly anyone waves back, so I have largely given up.

I suspect you are more likely to get a wave in an older or visibly modified Jimny than what is a relatively new looking vehicle.

To be honest I don’t see that many Gen 4s round here and only a few Gen 3s, perhaps one every few journeys.

All the time, sometimes they're as excited as I am
Some of the Gen. 4 Jimny owners seem to look down on me though (and that's not because of a lift kit)

I met a Gen4 Jimny with a camper trailer from belgium or netherlands this summer on a Norwegian mountain pass and the waves were exited and strong. I so regret not stopping for a chat even tough there were traffic and no apparent place to stop.

One time I met this guy in a roundabaout with a blue jimny like mine. we were both hanging out of the window waving like a nutcase.
I stopped at the next possibility, and he had turned around and came back after me.
We had a nice chat of course.

Last year in Sweden i was searching for a camp spot but not wich much success until I saw a passing Jimny with a RTT so followed him to his spot and asked if I could camp next to him.
So the whole evening we were talking Jimnys and boring the rest of the crowd.

Only nice people have Jimnys!

I wave wave to all Jimny’s I see when driving and, when on my motorcycle, I nod to all bikers regardless of size or make. Both forms of transport have a strong and wonderful sense of community born out of shared eccentricity.
