Anyone have any idea if this is easy to weld? Or is it gone?

Hi everyone,
I've recently started the process of finding a Jimny as a project, with the aim of using it for very few miles to mainly cart the dog about.
I want something cheap and scruffy and a car has come up close to me that looks to fit the bill. The advert has included some pictures of the area below the jack in the boot that needs welding, is this a relatively easy job for a welder or is it terminal?
Many thanks,
Clive

I've seen significantly worse. The entire boot floor is available as a replacement panel and is straightforward for someone competent. Thing is that if the boot is tired it follows that the rest of the notorious places would probably need attention, thinking behind the headlights, wheel arch behind the plastic etc. There is a comprehensive list in the information section.

As @Lambert said, what you see there is probably just the tip of the iceberg. I will just add, that's par for the course on an older Jimny and you probably won't find anything much better out there, and a lot that are worse.
Don't let it scare you off, but go in with eyes open.
I'd consider asking the seller if your test drive route could include a tea stop at a local welders. A professional inspection is money very well spent IMO.

Thank you both for the advice, it's reassuring that there are options. I have seen the list of places to check for rust in the technical forum, very helpful.
The headlamp/front panel I think I will be able to see, and I know that panel can be replaced relatively easily too. Under the arches may not be so easy.
If both panels are bolt-in then that's something I can do, but welding I cannot.
I expect I can buy it for under £2k, it has an MOT until the winter with no advisories for the last decade and full service history apparently, so it appears to be well cared-for.
