Oh and I had this one for a week too kind of unofficial.
I just passed it on from one friend to another, but could have kept it.
Sadly I behaved like a grown up and had some sense at the time.

I tried being a grown-up once back in the 90s. It sucked so I have done my level best to avoid it since!

I'm now onto my third Jimny, and I suspect my last. This one is a keeper. Had a gen3 sz4 in pearl white, a gen 4 SZ5 in white and just got a gen 4 Sierra in grey. Also had a SX4 4x4 and some motorbikes too. A van van 125 (a right laugh that was), two GS500e and a Gsx600f which I did about sixty odd thousand miles on.

My '22 LCV is my first Jimny, indeed my first Japanese car. My last 4x4 was an '18 Land Rover Disco TD6, which was a marvelous machine, but it had a number of reliability niggles even from new, and was too broad across the beam for berry picking in the Baltic backwoods. When I stopped towing the heavy trailer, I had no more real use for the big Landie (or its hefty running cost).
Not wanting to offend anyone, but I am withholding judgement on how long-lived my Jimny will be. I take care of my vehicles -- I am a big believer in preventive maintenance -- but I also work them rather hard. The Jimny is dead simple, and in typical Japanese fashion is very well screwed together. But it is also by necessity quite lightly built, which has pluses and minuses.
My favorite Jimny is one they have not built: a three-door Gen4 with the longer frame. In other words, the current Maruti 4-door but with the LCV's (long) two side doors only. Would be great to have the extra room for tools.
