We will be picking up an imported Jimny Sierra in the next week or two and I have a couple of questions regarding giving the correct details for insurance websites. On moneysupermarket it only goes up to 2021 model year and ours is 2024. Also what is the correct vehicle security equipment? Is it just factory fit immobiliser? Any other tips relating to insuring the little fellow would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully someone who has an import will jump in and say where they got insurance, but I suspect you will have to go to a specialist insurer.

the comparison sites probably won't show a sierra although they do ask if the vehicle is an import. I found an import for sale online and used its number plate so it appeared on a comparison site as its already registered. The only security from factory is the standard factory immobiliser. I would probably recommend another additional security measure such a steering wheel lock/tracker etc. Especially as the sierras have keyless entry so may be more prone to going walkabouts in the future.

We asked our broker about an imported car and they weren't impressed with the idea and suggested the premium would be heavily loaded to reflect it not being a UK car so we decided against it. There are ways and means I'm sure maybe the importers have a list of companies to try?

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
