Reflections from Instrument Cluster (2023)

Quite surprised some are saying they can't see the reflections. To me it is very obvious, usually it just makes the dials flash an opaque white, probably more of a sky reflection. It is quite distracting.

Here are some photos showing how reflective it is, although when driving/sitting in the car it isn't so much a mirror reflection, just makes it so you can't see through the clear plastic. Never had it or noticed it any other vehicle I've driven.

I also mention in my video here:

Let me put it this way, if there's a reflection it's never been enough of a bother, and as has been suggested, driver position is going to be a factor. I've certainly never seen my own eyes or even my glasses reflected in them.

I'm fairly certain I have seen the dials reflected in the side windows at night, but, again it' not enough of an irritant to really register.

My wife and I have independently noticed that there are reflections coming from the two main dials on the instrument cluster.
From the other replies, it sounds like you and the ladywife each must either shrink or grow several inches.

If that is not a reasonable approach, then here are two and a half other ideas.

1) There is a stuff called anti-glare film, among other names.  It is a thin, transparent plastic film that one applies to (for example) a glass surface to greatly reduce reflectivity.  You can find it online in small sheets, or possibly at the computer store on the high street if you have one.  It is often used for computer screens and readouts in outdoor and production environments, as well as for reducing the reflections off of windows for various reasons.  Motorcycle guys use it too, for the same problem that you have with your Gen4.  Cheap and very easy to apply oneself without any hassle.

2) If you are extremely dextrous and handy with crafts, it is possible to remove the lenses from the instrument pod and, with judicious trimming, reposition them slightly, which may be all you need.  But again, this requires great care -- a heavy hand and little plastic parts do not go together.

2 1/2) Polarized sunglasses every time you are behind the wheel during the day.  (Not entirely serious suggestion, tho it may work...)

Just my thoughts.  Let us know what you come up with.

If there is any glare then I can't say its annoyed me either. My top annoyance is the crash safety alarm "Its alright car I know theres a pedestrian safely on the pavement you don't need to have a panic attack"

Maybe the windshield's vinyl band is helping me too?
