Maybe the LCV doesn't need them- I suspect they are additional crash protection (before they rust out!) for the back seat passengers.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

You don't have the mud traps on the outside of the chassis rails!Here's what my 7,500 mile late 2023 Jimny looks like that's been used daily during the winter months without any underseal (not that we've had a real winter in Berkshire). I don't think it looks too bad but there's a couple of surface spots forming in the corners and the chassis is becoming more grubby so will
