The right Hazard Switch was created by Snowy Paul
Last year I took my Jimny to the local garage for an MOT, in the process they managed to set fire to it destroying the Dashboard. They replaced the dashboard but ever since the Hazards havent worked. Now of course it's an MOT fail. So I went through all the wiring and its fine, so I thought it must be the switch as when I buzz it out it isn't working. I got another switch and that didnt work ether. What are the chances of having two bust switches? So I took the switch apart and low and behold the part of the switch that should connect the flasher to both the left and right indicators isn't in the switch on either switch (in the picture there should be a little copper part part where the 3 holes are). I can only assume that when they replaced the dash it had a later switch fitted? My Jimny is a 2000 model. Problem is the on e-bay all the switches list the same switch from 1998 onward and I don't want to buy the wrong switch again, any ideas?

I'm not sure if I want to know how doing an MOT can set a Jimny on fire? Anyway if you drop Martin in the shop in the top banner a message with your vin number he should be able to provide a quote for a switch.

Welding set the carpet on fire while the guy was on tea break. Have messaged Big Jimny Store, thanks for the tip.

As you say, around this time there were two switch types.
Yours is the one where the complexity of the hazard switching is done in the switch and the indicator relay is a simple relay
The newer one is where the switch is a simple on/off switch and the "intelligence" is moved into the indicator relay which has a small electronic circuit inside to provide the switching
Price for the switch for yours is £58 plus £5 p+p and delivery is around 10 days as Suzuki stock for this is in Hungary
