I think this heat shield is to protect the exhaust and stop you from setting fire to the grass, so should I be worried?

Ditto I did thousands of hours with my last jimny in fields without that and I was fine.

Thanks guys, that’s what I thought. I don’t often go through long grass and looking at the rest of the exhaust whilst it isn’t leaking and not too rusty I wonder how much longer it will last.
The outer of the front CAT looks rusty so it wouldn’t surprise me if that had disintegrated inside. Ah well at least Jimny exhausts aren’t as expensive as some cars.
