I stand by my experience, once an m13a starts to overheat it is going to need a head gasket/head crack tested. You can change everything else and it may mask it for a while but the damage is done and it will only get worse. I have been there and done it.

For my friend with this problem it was cheaper to buy a used engine for 200 euro from me with a known service record, than to pay a garage to explore all the other options.

I had my m13 engine for sale for years in an online ad but no interest. This show how rare it is with these problems.
There are no g13 engine to be found in Norway now.
The m13 still is very reliable.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
