Hi all! New to Jimny family. was created by jakmag
Just picked up an ‘02 Jimny which my son has bought as his first car. See photo.
My parents had an ‘08 and now have a ‘19 which influenced his choice and insurance cost.
pretty standard and only thing I will be adding is a towbar for a bike rack.

Welcome along. Your son’s 02 Jimny looks very tidy. I put a tow bar on my 2011, it was straight forward, the electrics take as long to do as fitting the bar.

Hi and Welcome.
As DrRobin said, fitting towbar no issues, very easy if you remove the rear bumper first.
Re- bike rack....The spare on the rear door may get in the way of a towbar mounted rack. I have a Witter swan neck which puts the tow ball away from the body to gain access above the spare, but even with this my Thule tow ball mount 3 bike (high bike mount) hits the spare. No issue, I remove the spare, but if you are purchasing all new worth a look to see if you can get a combination that clears.
