I guess that is down to personal preference. Personally prefer manuals off road.If your primary use is off-road, then go with the auto.

I beleive the manual JB74 is geared for approx 20mph/1000rpm in top. So 60mph (near to 100km/h) is about 3000rpm on the tacho.
