It's 4mm hose you need. I've used pvc aquarium hose - it was £7 for 10m. I've routed it down the brake hoses rather than along the axle so it is well out of harms way. It's only 2 hoses to each hub- not complicated at all really.
as i needed quick fix , i drilled hole in front hubs and screwed in a 20mm bolt to push the  sliding collar into locked position , worked a treat

question now , if i remove bolt , will collar stay in locked position as there is no vacuum to release it or will movement etc cause it to slide to unlocked ?

I know the " proper " system only uses vacuum to lock / unlock so thinking it will stay in place with no bolt ?
