Hello and welcome to my Jimny project! was created by Oakley1992
Good afternoon, all.

First time Jimny owner here. I bought it very cheaply from a farmer who used it for lamping. It needed around £1,200 spending on welding, new exhaust and a few wheel bearings. I picked it up yesterday from the welders shop and took it down for the tracking doing a Kwik Fit. They've just rung to say they can't track it because the steering is too loose and won't lock out properly. Any ideas as to what I should be looking at?

I look forward to chatting!

Hi and Welcome
^^^^^^ that's actually sound advice. They should have told you what's wrong, the fact they did not suggest they don't know what they are looking at or just don't want to tell you.
Jack the wheels off the ground and have a feel for any play, give it a mini mot. Report back with what you find, it's possible it could be many things, but trackrod ends / wheel bearing / kingpin bearing are usually at the top of the list. Don't panic, nothing complex to fix.
