As I've had my 2014 Jimny for a year now and celebrated its 4th MOT passing with no advisories. I thought I may grab add some plastic suzuki bling, it appears the pricing has dramaticaly increased. After two attempts of purchasing the pieces (£80), I recieved two replies apologising as the item wasn't in stock, so my money was immedeatley refunded. The prices on ebay seemed rather steep, (£240 +) I enquired if there was a mistake in price, the answer is in the screen shot below.
Needless to say, I wont be spending that money on the said item. Of course, it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the Jimny!

I get the feeling that's the "we can't be bothered" price increase rather than direct import costs. Using the same X3 price increase blamed on Brexit in this instance, a new £15K swift would now have a RRP of £45K!
Sadly Brexit has left a lot of companies not bothering as they do not understand the implications, or are just cashing in.
We still get items from Europe at work and have seen about 4% increase in costs directly as a result of Brexit at the moment.
Still look on the bright side, they are still offering free postage on the item

This happened with Land Rover parts, the prices increased in some cases tenfold.
With spare parts, the logistics (storage, manufacturing, ordering, picking/packing, paperwork, despatch) involved in supplying a single £60 piece of plastic far outstrip the profit made from it.
Also, the retailer mark up on parts is usually 100%
The company my missus works for has recently imposed a £100 minimum order charge, so that they actually make a profit from small spares orders, so if you want a £15 valve it's going to cost you £100
With Land Rover the price increases came when they were sold to an lndian company. l imagine they just looked at the parts dept, plus the customer base (not without money) and decided it was time they raked in some more serious coin from it.

As the page says that the seller has disposed of a reasonable number but has plenty left, I would suggest that his stock was purchased pre. Brexit final date and therefore he is just cashing in on the deal.
In a perfect world he wouldn't sell any more and his dreams of making it big would crumble into dust.

I don't begrudge leaving some meat on the bone for the next guy but I have never been happy with been seen as a cash cow. You can shear a sheep every year but you can only cut its throat once!

As I think I have previously mentioned, Suzuki have a new parts manager in UK HQ
She has both raised prices across the board and reduced dealer margins on accessories.
Therefore you will see a general rise on all parts and with parts considered "accessories" there will typically be a dealer price rise as their margin has been cut. The latter came as a surprise to a lot of dealers who found out only after they had ordered an accessory.
This has been combined with the strange message that "Dealers should sell more parts" and that Suzuki want to reduce the stock holding of older parts. You would have thought that a really good way to sell off older parts would have been to reduce them rather than increase them??
On the plus side, a few parts have reduced in price, so its not all bad news.
Away from Suzuki, what has gone totally stupid is postal charges. Most postal services have hiked up postal costs dramatically!
