A few months ago in a moment of madness I decided to sort out the odd rattle my Jimny had. I've done really well, my son thinks it's silent compared to his modern Corsa (is that an actual endorsement?). However I can now hear a hollow "tap" that occurs randomly which has eluded all attempts to locate so far.
I guess it's been there all along, but is now the prominent "quiet" rattle that my OCD hearing has latched onto.
It's starting to consume me, every journey even with the stereo on loud I can hear it!
Ever started something on your Jimny you have regretted?
As soon as the wife stops rolling her eyes I plan a Journey in the back with my stethoscope

I get where you are coming from. I have got Dreadnaught quiet finally and it's so pleasant, right up to putting my toolbox in in a morning, that rattles like mad depending how and what it's loaded with but I don't mind that so much because I know what is making the noise, though its better when it is quiet. Unidentified noise on the other hand is hateful. Good luck with the search.
