I do have a nagging feeling that these electronic "driver aids" are also a result of Euro Ncap ratings. Without them these days a Sherman tank would get a zero rating as the vehicle ability in a crash is no longer the focus. So the fact they are present, even if they don't work, means higher rating.
TUrn it off and look at the signs yourself, it's easy.

They're definitely only there for the encap rating. It's just a box ticking exercise and arguably more of a hazard than a benefit. I've had the collision warning go off many times when driving down streets with lots of parked cars, although thankfully only once did it activate the brakes. If I could disable it permanently I would. Lane keep is pointles and I've had that turned off virtually from new.
I sometimes find the sign recognition handy if I missed a road sign, but would happily have that removed too. Things that would have actually been useful (like radar for smart cruise control, or actually showing your current speed on the digital dash or when cruise control is activated) aren't there, but we get this rubbish bunch of 'driver aids' that no-one wants.

My Sat Nav knows the speed of the road and bleeps if I speed without a sign recognition system.
My Jimny is not really quick enough for lots of over-taking, at least without some care, so that symbol might as well be permanently on.
