One of those presumably young ladies in customer services actually told me, when questioned about the anti-perforation warranty, that the chassis was considered as part of the exhaust system. Bless.
When questioned about the roof load, she repeated that the [Suzuki brand] roof bars are rated at 30kg and had no other info.
When I see something in writing from Suzuki Japan, I might believe it (although the dealer that serviced my car told me that the manual is out of date (and that came from Japan). I wonder which one is right?

Curious times we live in
I haven't told you what I believe. I've shared the information given to me by Suzuki.

Well Bill, it seems you are choosing to believe whatever suits you. I gave examples in another thread of other roof rack manufacturers not associated with Suzuki that stipulate a 30kg limit for the Gen4. I'm not sure why somebody selling a product would deliberately limit their products for one particular vehicle and not others that use the same components, unless of course there was a good reason.
Maybe this Australian manufacturers was mislead by the same young ladies? www.rhinorack.com/en-au/products/roof/ro...bar-roof-rack_ja0631

Here's another one: www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel3.php?...e=roofbar&query=8656
This is just a guess, but perhaps they asked the vehicle manufacturer? Isit a coincidence that all the sources I've quoted have given exactly the same 30kg figure?Bill Portland wrote: I wonder where they did get any info from?

As you say, just a guess. Or maybe the absence of any manufacturer data led them to use the old number.
