Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)
The round fog lamp lenses in my 2009 GEN3 are very dull and generally lower the look of the vehicle, so they need to be changed.
I am considering fitting aftermarket LED combination fog / DLR units. It's not clear if any will fit (mechanically, ok with electrical modifications), they are listed for the Jimny, but compatibility checks and some reviews say not.
So has anyone done this and can point me to a set they know will fit mechanically?
Thanks
Mike

Greetings, Mike...hope you're well !!
I have these combo lights on mine, and they're excellent....but here's the rub...
...I didn't fit them, the previous owner Dave Jones (X8GGY) did, so I can't help you with make, model etc....but I can state without hesitation that they're worth having.
Only one downside that I've discovered so far....with engine off, but accessory position selected on the key ( which you need, for example, when listening to the radio in Asda carpark.. ), the driving lights are illuminated the whole time until "off position is selected.
May be possible to rewire them to get round this...but I ain't that clever !!!!!
Hope this helps...
Chris

Thanks Chris, yes all ok here, hope you are well.
Think I may have found some, will phone the supplier and ask they to confirm they will fit.
Do yours look like these from the front? Just wondering if they are the same LED pattern as yours as not there are not that many variants about. They also tend to fit a lot of vehicles.

Hi Mike
I think the ones you've shown me here are by Bearmach, fairly expensive, I would guess, but decent quality.
They're not the same as mine (see photo)...I have no info on these, other than what's moulded in the glass...manufacturer appears to be JUST.
If you PM Dave (X8GGY), he may be able to tell you where he sourced these....if you prefer them to the Bearmach's , that is !!!
I should add...the JUST ones come with good quality, waterproof plugs/sockets, and fully resin-sealed control box.... wired so that.....
Normal driving....d/l auto-on
Driving, side/head selected...d/l auto-off
Fogs selected....d/l off, fogs on.
Hope this helps...

They fitted fine Scimike, a direct physical replacement for the original Jimny ones...
Wiring them up wasn't too bad... As Gus says one wire had to go to an ignition switched live so that the DLRs come on when you're driving, maybe I could have found a better one that wasn't on the accessory circuit then? And one wire has to go to the main beam wire so that the DLRs go off when the headlights are on... a bit awkward on a Jimny as the headlights are weirdly earth switched*, so I connected that wire to the back lights wiring which is positively switched...
* The three wires to the headlight bulbs are initially ALL live?! and when side is selected on the rotary switch one wire drops to negative so that the sidelights come on, then when headlights are switched on another of the three wires drops to negative, and - of course - when main beam is selected the third wire drops to negative, this is what causes utter confusion when trying to get spotlights to come on with main beam, and you have to wire a relay in reverse, i.e. the earth triggers the relay and not the positive... but that's another story!
Hope that helps?
Dave
