Help - Roll Cage Install.... was created by sniper
I am having a cage fitted and need some pictures of cage installs that have the front legs going through the top of the wing......
The tube goes down the "A" pillar and then joins the structural steel on the lower "A" pillar, behind the front wing, then triangulated to the chassis.
The guys at the workshop will be fitting it without me being present and I want to get as much info for them as possible...
Also, if anybody has any pictures of tidy tray-backs, it would help to see those also.
Thanks in advance,
sniper

This is one of my old Vitaras - "Superzuki" that started this obsession of mine - with a cage that went though the top of the A-pillars...
The end of the tubes sat on steel plate bolted to the top of the wings. with the outer skin neatly trimmed around the tubes...
That prompted JackOnlyJack to ask for these questions of the landing area -
Might help?
Most people have them external and running down to a sill side bar, but I've (personally) never like the "climbing frame" look...

This is what i was thinking about sniper
square 5-6mm plate in purple
then bar welded to it
also thinking of bolting plate to the part of A pillar
it's a bit rough but you get the idea

You'd be better off having an upside down L shaped plate that landed on top as well rather than 'just' bolting to the side?
There's only 60mm from where the hinge is sitting in the photo to the outer skin of the bolted-on wing...

My cage idea is more to protect windscreen (not for roll over)
So my tube will be 38-45mm o/d
