Hi.
As a new Jimny SZ5 owner I’d be grateful for some advice please. When reversing should I always select 2WD or can I also reverse in 4WDH and 4WDL.
Many thanks. Duncan.

As long as you are on a low grip surface then all gears are available including reverse in either 4x4 mode. If you're on a high grip surface you should only use 2x4.

In fact on a vehicle without a centre diff like the Jimny it is advisable to drive a few metres in reverse once finished in 4wd to undo some of the windup that occurs. Then select 2wd.

That's true but I have never regularly needed to do it, maybe once in every 20 or 30 4x4 to 2x4 cycles. It usually just changes smoothly with no drama.
