pre 2005 Jimny Paint colours - Grey?? was created by Tin Worm
I have a 2008 Jimny in the dark grey that seemed popular.

The bumper is enormous!

Looking at fitting a pre 2005 bumper, trying to avoid paying for paint.

Is there a pre 2005 jimny with the same grey? I have seen some two tone ones, but not in person to compare.

Or if anyone will paint a bumper for a reasonable price I'm all ears. Off road ready, not rolls royce lustre.

Cheers in advance for any pointers.

Ed

Now you made me think of it I can't recall the "Grey" pre 2005, tended to be primary colours. I could be wrong and usually am.

Alternatives, how about black? Available pre 2005 and any cheap Halfords black spray will sort the other bumpers and side panels, as you say, two tone. Cheap ish option and easy to patch up any off road damage.

You can also get the grey mixed at a paint shop in spray can for about £15, but you need lacquer which is another £8 ish to finish off. This assumes you can do it in one can. To be honest it never matches 100% due to fading of the original paint over time, it's now a lot lighter than the day it was produced.

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

As mad as it sounds I’m massive fan of the OEM look on any car, even if it’s subtly modded from standard when you look closer.

I think the grey is too dark to be the top colour of a two tone car, what I was referring to was the two tone cars that actually had grey lower halves. But it appears such vehicles had silver bottoms pre 2005 and grey bottoms post 2005, so not much help.

I think my only options are trimming, painting a first gen bumper, or paying for a third gen one in grey.

Not massively keen on trimming as I said, I want it to be capable but without looking capable.
