I would simply caution anyone looking at what components to use for recovery to be very careful. Ask questions of the people that sell the parts. Ask what analysis went into the design and what load ratings they have.

Similarly, anyone that foresees themselves needing to do a recovery (either the vehicle doing the recovery or the vehicle being recovered) should seriously seek some recovery training.

Improper recovery can be very dangerous. I'm remembering it being only about a year and a half ago that a young lady in Australia was killed while observing a recovery. Early in my career I was part of one of the teams that was assigned to analyze a failure on an M88 Recovery Vehicle that caused the death of a U.S. soldier.

Just be careful.

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

Good advise Zookbob. Whilst I have ordered the rear recovery points and will probably get the front ones when available, I hope I never need them. Upto now my off road venturing has been at the pay and play quarry and one day landing. I wouldn't go into mud as I don't have the tyres for it. But it wod be nice to know I have the equipment in the winter If I come a cross a car stuck in the snow or that has skidded into a drift, to help pull them out properly.

Plus they look good :silly:
