Hi guys,

I've managed to pick up a beautiful little 24000 mile Jimny convertible and I've kinda fallen in love with it haha!

It's been in storage for something like 12 years and needs some attention to the ignition system to make it purr. I want to make it perfect, the only thing is, I can't figure out what engine I have to get the necessary bits to bring her to life. It's a 2002 model.

Been to my local parts supplier today and they were no help at all. Hoping someone here can help.

235/85R16 Maxxis Bighorns on 16" Rims, 4:1 Rocklobster, Rear ARB locker and on-board air

If your beautiful convertible has been in storage for that long i would also replace the timing belt.
If that snapped the engine would be severly damaged.
And we would love some pictures of your new jimny

Thanks for your replies guys!

Been looking for parts online and I have to determine whether mine is an FJ or an SN... I'm guessing that SN means it's a Santana built convertible?

If I put my reg plate into eBay it tells me that NONE of the parts advertised are correct for my vehicle, despite what it says in the advert title.

Edit: eBay tells me my car is actually an FJ, but still none of the parts are compatible. Starting to become frustrated. The car should be fixed by now! haha

Be wary of those eBay compatability lists - I've found them all over the place with many makes - they cannot be trusted in my experience.

Yours will be the G13BB cam-belt engine - I've got a later M13 unit with a chain.

Check HERE for lots of information that will help you pinpoint what you have.
